The weather held this week and the chainsaw worked flawlessly with the exception of operator error. I had come to dread chainsaw sessions because they usually and quickly turned into an “opportunity” to work on the chainsaw and endless attempts to get the chainsaw started.
I still have a Husqvarna chainsaw that I’ve operated less than half a dozen times because it is so difficult to get started and to run. It is hard enough to do lot clearing when the equipment cooperates so when it turns on you the result is great frustration. Glad to have the Echo chainsaw. It starts easily and runs great. It rarely needs any chain adjustments and isn’t that heavy. The future is probably a battery powered chainsaw but I sure am glad to have found the Echo as a very reliable gas powered chainsaw.
Not all that much fun but I was gratified at being able to do this work. Cleared the road and ended up with a considerable amount of firewood. There is a lot of log left to harvest by the roadside. I still have to use my electric log splitter on the larger pieces but I want to do that work in conjunction with splitting some of the wood piled from the original lot clearing that I’ve already cut and stacked. I will be glad to have done the firewood prep when I have a toasty fire going in the old Rumford 1000 fireplace during the cold this winter.
Looks as if that was a large tree. Good job in rescuing your chainsaw. Did you get any of the hurricane remnants? If so bet the dam is full again.
