Finished hauling mulch to the flowerbeds on Sunday. Had enough to cover all beds but had hoped there would be enough to do the underside of the deck and ramp in back. I really like the deck but not that ramp. There has got to be a better way.
Been working on a solution, off and on, since I received the news from the builder that the house would have the ramp. Another project that will continue ruminating until I get earth moving and digging capabilities.
There are so many frogs here. Certain times of the year (OK, all summer), they can raise a ruckus – especially as the sun goes down. This guy was hanging out in an old mole run down the cinder foundation. I’d previously had a few small mole issues that are, at the moment, under control.
The shredded rubber mulch has stayed in place except where the dogs have played in it so I see there is not a major floating issue with it. We have had torrential downpours over the last few days. Going to be interesting to observe over time. They sell it with the promise that it will retain the color for 8 years and they sell it out of sun drenched Miami so I am very hopeful that promise holds. Would have been an easier job if I’d put all the edging down first but it was an easy job overall. Time will tell how well it works but I’m extremely optimistic I will continue liking the new flowerbeds.
